Marion R. Swick

Marion Swick, 73, of Lodgepole died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Sidney Regional Medical Center Extended Care from Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA).

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 6, 2012 in the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney with Mark Zalesky officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Following the services, there will be a reception.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CurePSP Foundation for PSP/CBD and Related Brain Diseases at https://give.psp.org/ in Marion's honor.

Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home. Friends who wish can sign the register book on Friday at the funeral home.

Marion Royer Swick, the son of John and Ruby Ethel (Willenberg) Swick was born June 3, 1939 at Lillian, Nebraska. Marion attended grade school at Lillian, and graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1958. During high school he joined the Army National Guard gaining the rank of Corporal before being discharged in 1964.

He married Connie Louise Borgmann on June 18, 1961 in Sidney, Nebraska. Marion spent his working years as a grain elevator manager.

Mr. Swick is survived by his wife, Connie; his five children: Gordon Swick of Alice, Texas; Eugene Swick of Holyoke, Colorado; Forrest (Kelly) Swick of Evans, Colorado; Silke (Lawrence) Flynn of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Heidi (Adam) Martin also of Cheyenne; his 12 grandchildren: Zachary Flynn, Wesley Swick, Thomas Swick, Joshua Eli Swick, Hannah Swick, Tracy Calahan, Tyler Flynn, Nicole Flynn, Ethan Martin, and Aidan Flynn, Esther Martin, and Abigail Martin; 2 great grandchildren: Dallas Harrison and Carly Swick; and two siblings: John C. (Joan) Swick of Burlington, Colorado, and Kathleen (Alan) Scheuerman of Edinburg, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruby Ethel Swick.

Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Swick family.
